The official blurb:

(Ages 15+) Bellydance, also known more accurately as raqs sharqi and danse orientale, is known for toning and shaping the body. Join us as we learn basic technique and get a fun workout at the same time! Each class includes a warmup and cool down, and teaches basic slow and fast dance movements that are the foundation of this dance form. No previous dance experience is necessary.

Please wear comfortable clothing that you can move in, such as leotards; tank tops and shorts, yoga pants or leggings. We will be doing some conditioning on the floor, so if you choose to wear a broomstick skirt, please wear leggings beneath it. You may dance barefoot or in soft dance slippers.

Continuing bellydance takes beginning bellydance a step further, concentrating on more control over muscle isolations, and focusing on transitions and fluidity. In addition we begin learning to play zils (finger cymbals). Finger cymbals will be available to borrow or purchase.
