After the Guests Have Gone…

Posted in General at 4:21 pm by deRomilly

2 Cats

Dora (front) and Pookah, her mom-cat, (behind)

We’re all exhausted. Especially the cats.

Begging for turkey is hard work, you know! I’ve been stitching — more news on that front later. :) Hope you US folks all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and that the weekend is wonderful for EVERYBODY!

Taking the Week off of Elmows for US Thanksgiving!

Posted in ELMOWS at 2:12 pm by deRomilly

Have a Happy Turkey Day, everyone!

I am thankful for all the wonderful people who visit here and buy my designs! It is a lovely feeling to be able to make a living doing something I love – and sharing with y’all is definitely something I love.

If you are dying to stitch something, there are a slew of Elmows (well, 12 of them) in the backlog!

Have a great weekend. I’m planning on being back on Monday!

Elmow #24 – Drexler Square

Posted in ELMOWS at 10:17 am by deRomilly

This Elmow was inspired by Leopold Drexler’s work in the 1890s. I love how his graphics are organic, but still very symmetrical. It makes my ordered little brain happy. I hope it does the same for you!

LMOW 24 - Square VineThe actual line pattern is about 5 inches square. Feel free to use a photocopier to enlarge or shrink it to a preferred size!

Note: Elmows are distributed as a pdf file. If you don’t have it on your computer, you can get the free Adobe PDF Reader here. This creates a nice clean chart or pattern that you can print on your printer (and size up or down using a copy machine, or even work from the monitor, if you want.

What ARE these things? What can I do with them and is it safe to buy them from you?

If something goes wonky, PLEASE email or call me
(919-249-8698, 9-5 ET). I want you to be happy!

Reminder – please read–

Because of the size of my downloadable shopping cart (relatively small), after Elmow #12 I will have to begin rotating Elmows. This means that as I add a new one, the oldest remaining one will no longer be available. When Elmow #13 goes up, Elmow #1 comes down. #14 loses #2 and so forth. If you want older Elmows, now is the time to get them. :)

Beautiful work, and an announcement!

Posted in GoldenCircleDesigns.com, Monday Treasures at 2:51 pm by deRomilly

While perusing blogs this morning, I came across this post by Chris Richards at Ella’s Craft Creations. She did this wonderful embroidery for a commission, and it fell through! Pretty, no? OK, absolute stunning and gorgeous – beyond pretty!

And my announcement. I am now accepting commissions for custom embroidery designs. If you ever had an idea that you thought you wanted to stitch but couldn’t draw, we can work something out. I can even kit the project for you when it’s all designed! Freestyle, crewel, stumpwork, cross stitch. Let’s talk!

Elmow #23 – Two Tone

Posted in ELMOWS at 7:00 am by deRomilly

OK, as you can see, I’m running out of clever titles for my counted work elmows. Probably because I’ve never been particularly great at titles in any case. Tech manuals tend to be called, “User Guide, version X.x” or some such, so I’ve never developed that gift! :) As you can see, this one has two colors, and isn’t 4-way symmetrical like the others!

I’d love to see what you make with it!
Stitch count – 42 X 42

Size when stitched on 14 count fabric – 3 x 3 inches.
